Checchio Paving is a family owned and operated business in Scotch Plains since 1950. We offer a variety of services in the construction industry encompassing both residential and commercial projects. We pride ourselves on high quality work and personalized service to our customers. A huge part of our success in this business is due to the fact that an owner is always present on the job, working along side the crew and communicating directly with the customer.
This day in age it has become common practice for companies to drop off a crew of men to do a job almost completely unsupervised. More often than not, the communication breaks down between the customer & contractor. The project and the customer suffer as a result of this practice. That is completely unacceptable and we do not operate that way. All three owners of Checchio Paving live right here in Scotch Plains / Fanwood. We love the hometown feel; as most do and enjoy seeing our customers at soccer games and other town events.
We feel a deep sense of satisfaction when we give our customer our best. That is why year after Year we do 90% of all our residential work in Scotch Plains, Fanwood & Westfield. We thrive on word of mouth. Our commercial operation is expanding everyday.

Ralph Checchio, original owner of Checchio Paving and Construction, a family-owned business that has been running for over 45 years. As the second-generation owner, Ralph took over after his father (first generation) and transformed the company from a masonry business to a primarily paving company. In addition to his business achievements, Ralph is also a Vietnam Veteran who has dedicated himself to serving the community of Scotch Plains. He has collaborated on various projects, including the construction of the Vietnam Veterans Monument in Town. Ralph's contributions are greatly appreciated and respected. Now that he is retired, he will have the opportunity to witness his son, Guy Checchio (third generation), continue the family legacy for many years to come.
Guy Checchio (Ralph's son) is the new owner of the family business. With many years in the field, he has become an expert in the construction industry. He is a Scotch Plains local and is looking forward to carry on the business and values for years to come.
Mike has been handling the majority of our Residential services for years. His specialties include: driveway paving, belgium block install, concrete, pavers, landscaping and more!
